Ran 3.9 miles in under 39 minutes. I ran outside instead of on the treadmill and I was trying to run slow. I really thought I was going about 5 miles per hour but actually did about 6 mph. Last month I ran a 2 mile race and surprised myself by running a 7.2 mph pace (2nd in my age group!!!). On the treadmill I feel like 7.2 is too fast.
Focuses (from Chi Running): feet parrallel (I pronate), loose joints, body lean
Results: I did pretty well with the feet but I have a hard time relaxing my knees and ankles. I also raise my shoulders and clench my hands unless I force them to relax. I don’t think I have the body lean down or the pacing. I can’t lean and go slow. For the pacing I tried a metronome track on my iPod but I can’t keep pace with it. Music works better for me, I just need to find some songs with 85-90 beats per minute. My footfalls feel too heavy. A tiny bit of soreness in my knee but nothing like I was getting 6 months ago. The stretching and leg drains from the book really helped with soreness.
Food:
Breakfast: Cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats w/ soy milk), coffee, water
Lunch: 3 egg omlett with ham, peppers, tomatoes, and cheese, water, chocolate cookies
Snack: Latte Freeze at Costco (not nearly as good as a Starbuck Frapucino)
Dinner: Ate way too much at a friend’s house- carnitas, tortillas, hotwings, some fruit and vegetables, cookies (3 or 4) cake, 3 glasses of wine.
