Asthma Information
American Lung Association A good place to get objective information about asthma and other lung diseases.
Advair site from GlaxoSmithKline (I have no financial stake in the company, their medicine just keeps me breathing). Advair and Singulair (see below) have made a huge difference in my life. I no longer carry a resue inhaler with me everywhere I go– not even when I run. I do get a dry throat and sometimes a croaky voice but it beats suffication. This is of course a commercial site so it may not be completely unbiased.
Singulair site from Merck (ditto). Singulair also helps with my sinus alergies. Living in the San Joaquin Valley that is important. I still get seasonal alergies and the occassional sinus infection but not as often or as severe as before. This is another commercial site so bias is possible.
Running Links
Chi Running This site is built around the writings and teachings of Danny Dreyer, an ultramarathoner. According to his book, Dreyer believes that it is possible to reduce pain, injury, and fatigue caused by running by using proper technique and by listening to you body. I am still trying to learn Chi Running but it makes a lot of sense. This site promotes the author’s books, videos, and classes.
Merced Running Club This is a nonprofit organization that promotes running and organizes races in the Merced area. This year’s 4th of July Run for Independence was alot of fun and well organized. MRC is a memner of the Road Runners Club of America.
Road Runners Club of America This a national non-profit that promotes running as sport and as a healthy and fun activity. A worthy organization but some of the commercial links are hard to distiguish from the RRCA links– click carefully.
